WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Authorities in Chester County are investigating a potentially serious domestic threat after a man was arrested carrying weapons at a local protest and later linked to a large stockpile of explosives and firearms.
Kevin Krebs, 31, was taken into custody on June 14 at the “No Kings” protest in West Chester. Hidden under his clothes, police found a loaded handgun, multiple loaded magazines for handguns and assault rifles, several knives, a ski mask, and gloves.
Following his arrest, investigators searched Krebs’ home on Conestoga Road in East Whiteland Township, uncovering an alarming collection of materials including:
13 improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
Sketches of bomb designs
Tactical gear and vests
A homemade firearm silencer
3D printers and a machine gun conversion device
In total, 21 firearms were voluntarily turned over to police by Krebs’ family members.
Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said at a news conference that, while no formal plan or manifesto has been found, authorities are continuing to investigate whether Krebs posed a credible threat of domestic terrorism.
“We’re still trying to understand his bomb-making background, his mindset, and overall intent,” said de Barrena-Sarobe, urging the public to share any relevant information about Krebs.
The investigation is ongoing.
