POCATELLO — Kevin Kelly Bissegger was arrested following an undercover operation targeting drug sales in Pocatello. He faces felony charges for delivery of a controlled substance.
On April 8, detectives from the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office and Pocatello Police coordinated with a confidential informant to arrange a controlled purchase of fentanyl powder from Bissegger, described in police reports as a “known drug dealer.”
The transaction was planned to occur in a parking lot behind a bar on West Clark Street. Detectives maintained surveillance from a wire car and other positions as the informant made contact.
Later that afternoon, officers observed Bissegger arrive at a neighborhood home as a passenger in a vehicle. The informant was directed to the residence, where multiple individuals, some identified as known drug users, were present.
Using a recording device, detectives monitored conversations between the informant and Bissegger inside the house. Police saw Bissegger retrieve a scale from a car, reportedly to weigh the drugs before the sale.
The informant successfully purchased the fentanyl and reported witnessing at least three additional transactions during the visit.
A warrant for Bissegger’s arrest was issued on June 27. He was taken into custody on June 30 and held at Bannock County Jail on a $50,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 10.
If convicted, Bissegger could face a life sentence. However, he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
