INDIO, CA – A man has been arrested on two counts of homicide after his elderly parents were found dead in their Inland Empire home, authorities confirmed.
Discovery of the Crime
Indio Police responded to a welfare check at a home on Green Hills Court after concerns arose about an elderly couple.
Initially, no signs of foul play were detected, and no contact was made with the residents.
Officers followed leads to a second location on Blooming Court in Palm Desert, where they encountered an adult male who refused to cooperate, escalating the situation into a standoff.
Bodies Found & Suspect Arrested
Officers then forced entry into the Green Hills Court home and discovered the couple deceased inside.
Both victims, 84 years old, showed signs of homicide, though their names have not yet been released.
Meanwhile, the Desert Regional SWAT Team responded to the standoff at Blooming Court. After several hours, the man surrendered without further incident.
Suspect Identified
The suspect, identified as Kevin James Reddy, was detained and later booked on two counts of homicide.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive behind the killings.
