WILMINGTON, N.C. — Wilmington police have arrested a local man following a shooting that left a woman seriously injured, according to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD).

Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Keshun Hykim Pridgen, who was taken into custody Tuesday night, Dec. 16. The arrest came after a woman sought emergency medical help at the City of Wilmington Haynes/Lacewell Training Facility earlier that day.

Investigators said the woman had been riding as a passenger in a vehicle Tuesday morning when she was struck by gunfire. The driver immediately transported her to the training facility to seek assistance.

Pridgen has been charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and from a moving vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

He is currently being held at the county detention center without bond, police said.
