Kerri Flynn Arrested for Stealing Packages in South Boston

Woman charged with receiving stolen property after stealing packages

by Amelia Crawford

Kerri Flynn, 34, of South Boston, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property on Tuesday, December 26, following multiple reports of stolen packages in the area just before Christmas.

Boston police apprehended Flynn around 11:45 a.m. after they spotted a woman matching the description of someone who had been stealing packages in the South Boston neighborhood for the past few weeks. Authorities were delivering toys to children when they encountered her. Flynn was reportedly carrying two bags full of unopened packages, which are expected to be returned to their rightful owners.

Residents had previously described Flynn as “the Tom Brady of stealing packages,” and she had two outstanding warrants for shoplifting and receiving stolen property. In addition to these charges, Flynn faces a new charge of receiving stolen property in connection with the South Boston thefts.

Flynn appeared in court on Thursday to address her outstanding warrants, where she was ordered held without bail. She was also directed to undergo an evaluation for a substance abuse program, as prosecutors noted her history of drug dependency. Her next court appearance is set for January 21, 2025.

Flynn’s lawyer, Nancy Hurley, argued for her release on personal recognizance bail, citing Flynn’s longstanding ties to the community. However, prosecutors highlighted Flynn’s record of probation violations and failure to attend previous court hearings.
