In a disturbing case spanning two states, the body of Darshitha, a 22-year-old woman reported missing from her Kerala home, was discovered in a lodge in Karnataka’s Hunsur.

The incident began when K C Sumathi returned to her residence in Kannur district, Kerala, on Friday to find 30 sovereigns of gold and Rs 5 lakh missing. Darshitha, her daughter-in-law originally from Karnataka, and her two-year-old granddaughter were also absent.

Darshitha had mentioned plans to return to her hometown in Hunsur, Karnataka, but when Sumathi tried contacting her, there was no response, prompting her to report the case to the police.

Authorities have identified Siddaraju as the accused. Police confirmed that Darshitha and Siddaraju were in a relationship. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to her death.

Darshitha’s husband, Subash, who works as a driver in the Middle East, is currently abroad.
