Kequan Walker & James Austin Arrested in Birmingham Robberies

Southside robbery suspects face multiple charges

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Police Department’s Crime Reduction Team has arrested two men in connection with a series of robberies in the city’s Southside area.

Authorities identified the suspects as 24-year-old Kequan Walker and 22-year-old James Austin, both residents of Birmingham. The arrests follow investigations into robberies reported on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in the 1000 block of 32nd Street South and the 1200 block of 28th Street South.

Walker and Austin are each charged with two counts of first-degree robbery. Additionally, Walker faces a charge of second-degree assault. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and more charges could be filed as new information emerges.

Both suspects are scheduled to be transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
