MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A Kentucky couple was arrested on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop on December 30. Deputies from the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle traveling along Interstate 24, which was tied to an ongoing drug investigation.
The driver, 37-year-old Jonathan Reed from Louisville, KY, and his passenger, 29-year-old Kelsie Clark from Paducah, KY, were detained after K-9 Pino alerted officers to the smell of narcotics coming from the vehicle. A search of the car led to the discovery of approximately 3,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills, bags of cocaine, capsules believed to contain raw fentanyl, ecstasy pills mixed with methamphetamine, and $2,376 in cash, likely from illicit drug sales.
Reed, who was on parole for drug trafficking, has a lengthy criminal record. He was charged with multiple offenses, including trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine (all second offenses), excessive window tinting, and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Clark was charged with trafficking in fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, as well as possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail following their arrests.
