by Amelia Crawford

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) — A 64-year-old man from Hopkinsville has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a trailer reported on April 10.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a theft call from the 1000 block of Lovers Lane, where a resident reported that a trailer was stolen from their driveway. Surveillance footage from the home captured a black Ford pickup truck removing the trailer.

Deputies tracked down a vehicle matching the one in the video and identified the license plate, which led them to Kenneth Morris.

The next day, on April 11, deputies located Morris and the vehicle at a residence in the 700 block of Riverview Drive. After being read his Miranda Rights, Morris spoke with deputies and admitted to taking the trailer, claiming he had purchased it from a third party. However, investigators later confirmed that the alleged seller had no legal claim to the property.

Morris was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking – All Others, with the stolen property valued between $1,000 and $10,000.

He is currently in custody as the case proceeds through the Christian County court system.
