Kenneth Martin Jr. Arrested for Stabbing in Axton, Virginia

Suspect found hiding in woods after victim airlifted with severe injuries

AXTON, Va. – A man is in custody following a stabbing that took place Saturday evening in Henry County, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

Deputies responded to the 1600 block of Birchwood Road in Axton around 4:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had already been transported to a hospital in a private vehicle and was later airlifted to another facility due to the severity of the injuries.

After securing the scene, deputies used K-9 Zajo to track the suspect through nearby woods. Shortly afterward, law enforcement located and arrested Kenneth Martin Jr., 40, who was found hiding in the woods.

Martin is charged with Malicious Wounding and is currently being held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
