OAKLAND, Md. — An Oakland man was arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop and K-9 search on September 17, according to Garrett County Sheriff Bryson Meyers.
Deputies stopped a vehicle along Weber Road around 7 p.m. for traffic violations. During the stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 conducted a scan of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert for drugs.
A subsequent search uncovered approximately 95 grams of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $5,000, along with cocaine, fentanyl, and related drug paraphernalia.
The passenger, Kenneth James McMaster, 40, was arrested and charged with:
Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in a school zone
Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of cocaine
Possession of fentanyl
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Authorities also discovered McMaster was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant in Garrett County. He was taken to the Garrett County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing.
