NORTH WEBSTER – A Pennsylvania man has been arrested after allegedly attempting to withdraw money from a bank account using another person’s identification in North Webster, police said.

Kenneth Lenard Cupic, 59, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, is charged with identity deception and fraud with enhancing circumstances, both Level 6 felonies.

According to police, officers responded to a fraud report at Northwest Bank on Oct. 29, 2025. A bank teller told officers that Cupic entered the bank carrying an Ohio driver’s license that displayed a different person’s name and appeared suspicious.

Court documents state that Cupic attempted to withdraw $3,500 from an account. The teller alerted a supervisor, who ran the identification through a fraud detection system that flagged the license as problematic.

Police said Cupic repeatedly claimed the driver’s license belonged to him. However, when officers asked him to provide the date of birth, address, city, and state listed on the identification, he was unable to give correct answers.

During his arrest, officers reportedly found a Pennsylvania identification card bearing Cupic’s name in his possession.

Cupic was taken into custody and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 27, 2025.
