STONEWOOD, W.Va. (WDTV) —
A Jan-Care Ambulance employee has been arrested after admitting to stealing a medication case containing vials of fentanyl, Ativan, and Versed from the company’s Stonewood station, according to the West Virginia State Police.

Investigators said Kenneth Arehart, 47, of Clarksburg, took the case during his October 2nd shift, allegedly planning to sell the medications because he was struggling financially, court documents reveal.

After receiving a tip about the theft, police searched Arehart’s home but were unable to locate the missing case. However, during an interview, Arehart reportedly confessed to stealing it.

Arehart is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and is currently being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
