JACKSON, Miss. – Kendrick Stubbs, a 37-year-old Jackson resident, has turned himself in after being accused of orchestrating a scam involving a counterfeit check and stolen vehicle through Facebook Marketplace.

Stubbs is alleged to have used a fake check to purchase a vehicle, then resold the same car to another individual. Authorities say he later stole the vehicle back from the buyer.

As a result, Stubbs faces three felony charges: embezzlement, grand larceny, and false pretense. He appeared before Jackson Municipal Court, where his bond was set at $30,000.

Stubbs surrendered to the Jackson Police Department around 10 p.m. on Thursday.
