MITCHAM, UK — Kemuel Gambicky-Forbes, 24, of Deer Park Gardens, Mitcham, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article following the fatal stabbing of Leon Anderson in Maple Close, Mitcham, on Monday night.
At around 7:30 pm, officers from the Metropolitan Police responded to a call about a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found Leon Anderson, who had been injured by stab wounds. Anderson was immediately taken to the hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead.
Gambicky-Forbes was arrested the following day and is set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Anderson’s family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
Pastor El Safo, a 50-year-old local resident, expressed his shock: “It’s a very quiet area. I’ve lived here for more than 15 years and have never seen anything like this. It’s really unfortunate and has caused a lot of panic.”
