Peoria Police have arrested three adults—Kemonie Bailey, 22, Taneisha Mack, 34, and Martavious Laster, 26—along with three juveniles after recovering approximately $4,000 in stolen merchandise. The arrests were part of an investigation into Black Friday thefts at Walmart locations in Peoria and Normal.
Walmart’s loss prevention staff had already identified the suspects, who were known to police from previous shoplifting incidents. Officers conducted covert surveillance and stopped the suspects’ vehicle, where they discovered stolen goods in plain view.
The three juveniles, including a 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old girls, face charges of retail theft, burglary, and possession of stolen property.
Bailey, Mack, and Laster face multiple charges, including contributing to the delinquency of minors, retail theft, and theft. Laster also had two warrants from Tazewell County. The Peoria Police Department is continuing to investigate the ring’s activities.
