ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta police have arrested Kelvin Evans in connection with the theft of unreleased Beyoncé music from an SUV parked near Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The theft occurred on July 8 in a parking garage off Krog Street, just days before Beyoncé’s first “Cowboy Carter” concert at the stadium. Evans is believed to have broken into the vehicle and stolen five jump drives containing watermarked and unreleased music, footage plans for the show, and past and future set lists, according to police reports.
Along with the jump drives, other items including AirPods, a MacBook Pro, and two suitcases were taken. Although investigators have not yet recovered the stolen hard drives, surveillance footage captured the incident in the parking garage.
Evans was arrested on August 26 in Hapeville for a parole violation and now faces charges of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft.
Police connected Evans to the crime through a 2025 Hyundai Elantra used during the break-in. The vehicle’s owner rented it out, and Evans, who is the owner’s niece’s uncle, reportedly used the car for about 30 minutes on the day of the theft. Surveillance footage shows Evans and his niece removing stolen bags from the car at an apartment complex on Hank Aaron Drive.
The stolen MacBook Air and MacBook Pro were traced to locations near the apartment complex and Hapeville on the day of the theft.
Kelvin Evans is currently held in Fulton County Jail on a $20,000 bond. His arrest record includes prior charges dating back to 2002, including armed robbery and aggravated assault.
