Athi River, Kenya – Detectives have arrested three suspects in connection with a violent robbery at Sanergy Limited Company EPZ that occurred on February 23, 2025. The gang, armed with crude weapons, allegedly assaulted and held workers hostage during the attack.
The suspects, identified as Kelvin Baraza Andayi (alias Kevoo), Titus Mutuku Maingi (alias Tush), and Jack Wilshere Kimathi (alias Jack), were apprehended in a joint operation by police in Kamulu and Athi River. Two other accomplices remain at large.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the gang stormed the premises, attacked employees, and stole valuables including cash, a fridge, microwave, four batteries, a generator, and other items, which they loaded into a waiting vehicle before escaping.
A major breakthrough came when detectives tracked the ringleader, Kelvin Baraza, to a house in Kamulu. A search yielded a Beretta pistol, multiple SIM cards, tactical clothing, and other incriminating evidence. Upon interrogation, Baraza led officers to his co-accused, Maingi and Kimathi, who were arrested in Gimu, Athi River.
All three are now in custody pending arraignment, as investigators continue to pursue the remaining suspects.
