WEST END, N.C. — A Moore County man was taken into custody Tuesday following the discovery of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia during a search in West End.
According to a press release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed a search warrant on September 23 in the 600 block of N.C. Highway 73. The operation led to the arrest of Kelvin Alston, 59, who now faces felony drug charges.
Alston is charged with:
Felony possession of cocaine
Possession of drug paraphernalia
He was booked into the Moore County Detention Center and is currently held on a 48-hour hold without bond.
Alston is scheduled to appear in Moore County District Court on October 9.
Authorities emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
