A shocking case of violence caught on camera has led to a prison sentence for a 26-year-old woman. Kelsey Bainbridge filmed herself attacking her ex-partner and then shared the footage online with threatening messages.

The video showed Bainbridge repeatedly punching and striking her ex-partner with household items, including a picture frame and ornament, causing a large head wound that required hospital treatment. She uploaded the footage with a chilling caption warning, “Prepare for his funeral because he is going in a coffin.”

In a further incident, Bainbridge also assaulted a former friend, hitting her with a broken Lambrini bottle and leaving cuts and swelling on her head.

Bainbridge was arrested on 5 July in Spennymoor while carrying a shovel. She was charged with attempted wounding with intent, wounding, and possession of an offensive weapon.

Pleading guilty at Teesside Crown Court, she was sentenced on 11 December to two years and six months in prison. Detective Constable Lynette Baker, who led the investigation, said: “These were violent and sustained attacks on two people which left them needing hospital treatment. Hopefully, with Bainbridge behind bars, they can continue the process of recovering and move on with their lives.”
