Hall County authorities arrested Kelly Leif Ward, 43, of Gainesville, after seizing over $12,000 worth of methamphetamine on Thursday.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), investigators executed a search warrant at Ward’s residence on Rock Ridge Drive, off of Dawsonville Highway, at around 6 p.m. There, authorities discovered approximately 17 grams of meth and roughly $7,000 in cash.

Ward was arrested at the scene and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of meth with intent to distribute.

During the search, 55-year-old Ronald Scott Dowling of Dahlonega was also arrested at the home for a probation violation. However, Dowling was not charged in connection to the drug case. He remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.

The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the extent of the meth trafficking operation.
