COTTONWOOD, Calif. — A 71-year-old Cottonwood man is facing multiple felony charges following a marijuana trafficking investigation by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday morning, the Sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) and the AB-109 SAFE Team served a search warrant at a home on Ina Way. The operation resulted in the arrest of Keith Frank Kerrigan, 71, of Cottonwood.
During the search, detectives located 25 marijuana plants, 131.9 pounds of processed marijuana, a pistol, and ammunition. Authorities say they also found evidence indicating Kerrigan was shipping marijuana across state lines — a felony offense.
Kerrigan was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on several charges, including:
Selling/giving/transporting marijuana
Possession of marijuana for sale
Cultivation of more than six marijuana plants
Felon/addict in possession of a firearm
Prohibited person in possession of ammunition
His bail was set at $25,000.
