The Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)/Economic Offence Wing arrested four individuals, including a couple, for alleged fraud related to land compensation under the Bharatmala road project in Raipur district.
The accused — Kedar Tiwari, his wife Uma Tiwari, Harmeet Singh Khanuja, and Vijay Jain — are charged with claiming compensation for land acquisition that actually belonged to other people, officials said.
The arrests came after a series of raids on Friday across 20 properties owned by 15 individuals in four districts, aimed at uncovering irregularities in the distribution of compensation between 2020 and 2024.
The agency is continuing investigations into the fraudulent claims related to the road infrastructure project.
