LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — A Jacksonville woman was arrested on narcotics charges following a traffic stop in Lenoir County, according to Sheriff Jackie Rogers.
Kayla Melton, 35, of Onslow County, faces charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest occurred on June 13, when Lenoir County deputies stopped Melton’s vehicle and established probable cause to conduct a search. During the search, deputies reportedly discovered methamphetamine and drug-related paraphernalia.
Melton was taken into custody and booked at the Lenoir County Detention Center with bond set at $2,500 secured.
No additional details about the case have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
