COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) — A man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a victim and stealing their vehicle in Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
The incident occurred in the 600 block of South Academy Boulevard, where a carjacking in progress was reported. Police say 34-year-old Kavon McDade attacked the victim, stole their keys, and drove off in the victim’s vehicle before officers arrived.
Shortly after, officers located the stolen car at an apartment complex in the 300 block of South Union Boulevard. Authorities said McDade had forced his way into one of the buildings.
He was located inside and taken into custody without further incident.
McDade has been charged with robbery and motor vehicle theft.
