by Ananya Mehta

Kaushambi police have arrested three individuals in connection with the Chak Khudayaganj murder case. The accused—Ramdas Patel, Ram Kishore Prajapati, and Manmohan Singh Rajput, residents of Soraon and Kaushambi—confessed to killing 55-year-old Ram Murat on Friday and dumping his body in a nearby field.

According to police, the prime accused, Ramdas Patel, suspected that Ram Murat had stolen his crop. On March 12, after consuming alcohol, Ram Murat approached Ramdas Patel’s field to demand the return of his crop. A heated argument ensued, and in a fit of rage, Ramdas allegedly attacked him with a flat pan, killing him instantly.

The accused then, with the help of their accomplices, dumped the body in another field and fled. All three were later apprehended and have been taken into police custody for further investigation.
