The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the high-profile liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh arrested the main accused, Kasireddy Rajashekar Reddy, at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad on Monday.
Authorities confirmed that SIT had previously issued three notices summoning Reddy for questioning. Instead of cooperating, he sought anticipatory bail from the High Court and avoided appearing before investigators. However, after the court rejected his plea, Reddy returned to Hyderabad.
As soon as he arrived at RGIA, SIT officials detained him and are preparing to transfer him to Vijayawada for further interrogation.
The case has drawn significant attention due to its political and financial implications. Police officials have not yet disclosed further details on the scale or specifics of the scam, pending ongoing investigations.
