Karyn Killian Charged With Embezzling $200K From Late Father

TUSCOLA COUNTY, Mich. — A Tuscola County woman has been charged with embezzling nearly $200,000 from her late father over several years, according to prosecutors.

Karyn Killian, 59, is accused of taking the funds from Gary L. Martin, an 82-year-old Air Force veteran and General Motors retiree, between 2019 and 2023. Martin passed away on February 18, 2024.

Killian was arraigned earlier this month on the following charges:

Embezzlement of $100,000 or more from a vulnerable adult

Identity theft

Using a computer to commit a crime

She remains in custody at the Tuscola County Jail on $100,000 bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 11 in Tuscola County District Court.
