The Jayanagar police arrested Karthik, a 40-year-old manager of a private firm, after recovering 1.4 kilograms of gold valuables and 1 kilogram of silver articles worth approximately Rs89.09 lakh. The stolen items were allegedly taken from the firm over the last several years.
Karthik, a resident of Tyagarajanagar, had been working as a manager for two decades at a firm owned by Ashok Paras Rampuria. The office-cum-residence was located in Jayanagar 4th Block, and Mr. Rampuria was frequently out of town, which gave Karthik the opportunity to carry out the thefts unnoticed.
The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
