A prostitution racket was uncovered at a spa in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh, resulting in the arrest of two men and the rescue of eight women.
Acting on a complaint from the vigilance unit on October 1, police carried out the operation. The spa manager, Ishwar Dass (69), and his associate, Sikendra Thakur (42), were taken into custody during the raid.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan stated that a decoy officer posing as a customer was deployed to gather evidence. The officer inquired about services at the spa reception, and once the illicit activities were confirmed, he signaled the police team waiting outside.
Police also recovered Rs 4,500 in marked currency used by the decoy officer as evidence.
A case has been registered at the Karol Bagh police station under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, and further investigations are ongoing.
