SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A woman has been arrested and a second suspect identified following the theft of donation boxes in Springfield.

Police responded Saturday morning to reports of larceny at a Springfield library on State Street, where two suspects allegedly cut the lock on a donation box. They are also suspected of committing a similar theft at the Springfield Museums on Edwards Street.

During the incident, 33-year-old Karly Bond of Hampden reportedly punched a security guard in the face while attempting to flee. Officers arrested Bond and recovered over $500 in stolen donations.

Bond faces multiple charges, including two counts of breaking into a depository, possession of burglarious instruments, assault and battery, and larceny under $1,200.

The second suspect, captured on surveillance video, initially evaded police. A photo of the individual was released Friday but later withdrawn for investigatory reasons. Authorities confirmed the suspect has since been identified, though no further details or charges have been disclosed.
