Karen Sue Dorsey Arrested in Randolph County Car Theft

Suspect found asleep in stolen vehicle in Randleman

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities in Randolph County arrested Karen Sue Dorsey, 48, in connection with a vehicle theft reported earlier this month, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of an automobile theft on Dec. 19, 2025, on Leonae Drive in Randleman. While detectives from the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit were canvassing the area, they discovered the vehicle had already been returned.

Investigators located Dorsey asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. She complied with law enforcement commands and was taken into custody without incident.

Dorsey was charged with:

Felony breaking or entering a motor vehicle

Felony larceny of a motor vehicle

Felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle

Due to the domestic nature of the case, Dorsey was issued a $15,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
