MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Three men are facing felony charges after Miami-Dade deputies said they stole over $1,200 worth of gum and other items from drug stores in Kendall.

Karel Desten Montes de Oca, 40, Adan Mesa Cepero, 58, and Yerandy Ramirez Ramos, 27, were arrested following the incident at Walgreens, located at 11690 SW 72nd St., on Thursday afternoon.

According to authorities, Ramirez entered the Walgreens around 2:30 p.m., grabbed a shopping basket, and took various packages of gum valued at $1,260.68 before leaving the store. Deputies observed him walking with Mesa, both carrying Walgreens bags filled with merchandise.

The two then met Montes de Oca, who was waiting in a Honda Accord parked nearby. Deputies watched as Montes de Oca began organizing the stolen items before taking the trio into custody.

A vehicle search revealed additional goods reportedly stolen from a CVS at 18478 NW 67th Ave. earlier the same day.

As of Friday, the three men remained in jail on multiple felony charges, including theft and dealing in stolen property.
