The Panjagutta Police cracked a high-profile servant theft case at the Panjagutta branch of Joyalukkas, arresting Karampudi Gopalakrishna (25) and recovering 1 kilogram of stolen gold worth Rs 1.65 crore—all within 24 hours of the complaint.
The theft, reported on February 15 by Sebastian, involved 10 gold biscuits (100 grams each) stolen from the showroom. Acting promptly, the Panjagutta Police formed special teams, analyzed CCTV footage, technical inputs, and intelligence leads to identify the accused.
Gopalakrishna, an employee of the showroom, was apprehended swiftly, and all stolen gold was recovered from his possession. Authorities also seized his Vivo mobile phone and Bajaj Platina motorcycle, which were allegedly used in the crime.
The police praised the rapid investigation, which ensured the safety of public assets and highlighted the importance of surveillance and security measures in jewellery establishments.
