A Willard man was arrested early Sunday after Aberdeen police responded to a reported domestic assault at a residence near Woodgreen Drive and Bradford Drive.
Officers arrived shortly after midnight on November 23, where they heard a loud disturbance coming from inside the home. Inside, they located an adult woman and 31-year-old Kaquan King-Brice.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers found clear signs of a physical struggle and reviewed video surveillance from inside the residence. After interviewing everyone involved, investigators determined that King-Brice was the aggressor in the confrontation.
Police also noted damage to the woman’s door and concluded that King-Brice had unlawfully entered the home.
While speaking with officers, King-Brice allowed them to inspect his backpack. Police say suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were visible inside.
Warrants were then issued, charging King-Brice with:
Felony breaking and entering to terrorize or injure
Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
Misdemeanor assault on a female
Injury to personal property
Simple possession of marijuana
Possession of marijuana paraphernalia
King-Brice was taken into custody and brought before a Moore County magistrate, who ordered he be held without bond.
All suspects and persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
