Kapurthala Police Arrest Rajinder Singh, Seize Heroin in Operation

Inspector Jasvir Singh Leads Successful Drug Bust Against Rajinder Singh

Kapurthala police have arrested a man and seized heroin as part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the district. The arrest was made by a team led by Inspector Jasvir Singh, working under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Prabhjot Singh Virk.

The accused, identified as Rajinder Singh, also known as Jindu, is a resident of Togawal village in the Sadar Kapurthala area. According to the police, they recovered 7 grams of heroin from his possession. A case has been registered against him on May 11 at Thana Sadar Kapurthala under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

SSP Gaurav Toora reaffirmed the police’s commitment to tackling the drug problem in the region, urging the public to cooperate by reporting drug-related information to the government’s helpline chatbot number 9779100200. He assured that the identities of informants would be kept confidential.

The SSP also emphasized the collective responsibility required to address the drug menace, calling on citizens to remain vigilant and participate in efforts to promote a drug-free Punjab.
