In a daring theft at Hallet Hospital in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Mohammad Faiz pretended to be a patient with a limp to steal a junior doctor’s mobile phone. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, enabling the police to arrest Faiz within just 60 minutes.

On August 20, Faiz entered the hospital posing as a disabled patient, carrying a walking stick and a doctor’s prescription. Wearing casual clothes, he gained the trust of the medical staff as he limped through the hospital lobby. CCTV footage reveals Faiz discreetly slipping his hand into a doctor’s coat pocket and stealing the mobile phone before casually walking out.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shravan Kumar praised the police team’s swift action, crediting the CCTV footage for their quick identification and arrest of the thief. During questioning, Faiz confessed to adopting multiple identities and committing similar crimes.

This incident highlights the importance of surveillance and quick police response in curbing such criminal activities.
