In a major development, Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi was arrested by Karnataka police in connection with a drug racket, marking the first time a South Indian actor has been arrested in such a case.
Authorities raided Dwivedi’s residence in Bangalore on Friday, uncovering incriminating materials. She was questioned extensively before being taken into custody.
The case has sent shockwaves through the Kannada film industry, with four other individuals already arrested in connection with the racket. Several prominent names have reportedly been linked to the investigation. Actress Sanjjana issued a statement denying her involvement in the scandal.
Although Ragini Dwivedi is better known in the Kannada film circuit, Telugu audiences may recognize her for her role in Nani’s “Jenda Pai Kapiraju”.
