In a major drug bust under Operation Clean Sweep, police on Sunday arrested a 21-year-old man and seized 90 grams of smack valued at Rs18 lakh from the Sanganer area.
DCP (Crime) Kundan Kanwaria identified the accused as Kamlesh Tanwar, a resident of Lasudiya Gaid village in Aklera tehsil, Jhalawar district. Acting on specific intelligence, a team from Sanganer Sadar police conducted a raid and recovered a packet of high-grade smack along with a mobile phone used in the distribution network.
During interrogation, Kamlesh confessed that he sourced the drugs from his brother, Ramvilas Tanwar, and intended to deliver them to a contact named Pawan Gurjar in the Vatika area of Jaipur. He admitted to bringing narcotics from Aklera to fund his personal lifestyle and indulgences.
Police said Kamlesh operated using mobile communication for on-demand delivery, especially targeting areas with hostels and paying guest accommodations. The operation was supervised by Additional DCP (Organised Crime) Richhpal Singh with coordination by CST team Constable Rajesh.
Authorities confirmed that this arrest is part of a wider effort to dismantle Jaipur’s drug supply chains. Efforts are now underway to trace higher-level suppliers and other receivers connected to the seized consignment.
