ARLINGTON, Texas — Kamari Marzittie, 25, has been charged with capital murder following a fatal shooting at an apartment complex on Nandina Drive on Thursday, June 19.

Police were called shortly before 1 p.m. after officers found a 24-year-old man shot and unresponsive. The victim was rushed to the hospital but later pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported seeing another man leave the apartment where the shooting occurred and enter a nearby unit. Officers located Marzittie inside the adjacent apartment with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Marzittie was taken to the hospital and initially gave a false name. He was first arrested for failure to identify himself and other outstanding warrants.

After questioning, investigators charged Marzittie with capital murder. Police say both men were involved in high-risk drug activity and believe Marzittie attempted to rob the victim when the shooting happened.
