The Kalka police have apprehended a man named Deepu for allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing silver jewelry along with cash. The victim, a local resident, filed a complaint on October 2 after returning home on October 1 to discover the house lock broken and valuables missing.
Following the complaint, an investigation led by Inspector Kamaljeet Singh was launched. During the inquiry, police received a tip that Deepu, a resident of Preet Nagar in Kalka, was spotted near the vegetable market carrying the stolen items. Acting on this lead, officers arrested him on October 5 and successfully recovered a large amount of silver jewelry.
Deepu was presented before the court and remanded to police custody for two days to facilitate further questioning, including his potential involvement in additional thefts.
