Kalamassery police have arrested three men for the murder of 25-year-old Vivek, who was fatally stabbed outside his home early Thursday morning.
The accused—Sanoj (39) from Thoppumpady, currently residing in Kalamassery; Prasad (38) from Thiruvilwamala, Thrissur, staying at a hotel in Kadavanthara; and Joyal (24) from Glass Factory Colony—were friends of the victim.
According to police, the murder stemmed from a dispute related to a financial transaction involving the hire of a vehicle owned by Sanoj. Sanoj and Prasad visited Vivek’s house on Wednesday before leaving, only to return later and stab him beneath his chest.
Vivek was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital in Ernakulam, where he died in the ICU. Police continue to investigate the case to determine if there were any additional motives behind the killing.
