Kalaburagi police have arrested a man in connection with a series of house thefts under the jurisdiction of the University Police Station, recovering property worth Rs13.4 lakh.
The accused, Muhammad Arif (50), a resident of Bilalabad Colony, Kalaburagi, was taken into custody on Friday. Police said that during interrogation, Arif admitted committing the thefts to repay his personal debts.
An investigation was launched after a complaint was filed at the Gulbarga University Police Station. Officers recovered valuables from Arif, including:

100 grams of gold valued at Rs16,000
200 grams of silver jewelry
A bike valued at Rs25,000
Following his arrest, Arif was remanded to judicial custody. Kalaburagi city police commissioner Sharanappa SD commended the officers and staff who successfully cracked the case.
