The operation was carried out by a team led by N.G. Padu Sub-Inspector B. Srikanth, who tracked down Krishna Rao. Following his arrest, he was produced in court for judicial remand.
According to the police, Krishna Rao was part of a well-organized gang that meticulously planned their thefts by scouting potential temple locations using Google Maps. The gang, which included Savara Sipanya, Savara Bogesh, Bathina Srikanth, Savara Suryam ,Kuramana Srinivasa Rao, is believed to have committed robberies in over 100 temples across the state. In total, they are responsible for stealing nearly 300 kg of silver ornaments.
Further investigations are underway as the police continue to track down other members of the gang.
