A 28-year-old Schuylkill Haven woman is facing criminal charges after authorities say she scammed several Montgomery County residents who believed they were purchasing Philadelphia Eagles game tickets.
The Lower Providence Township Police Department charged Kaitlyn Faust, of Schuylkill Street in Schuylkill Haven, alleging she posed as an employee of the Eagles Autism Foundation and offered discounted tickets to Eagles games last fall.
According to police, one victim from Worcester Township was referred to Faust by a co-worker who claimed Faust worked for the foundation and could secure reduced-price tickets. Between late July and early August, the victim sent Faust $750 through Apple Cash for three tickets to the Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys. The tickets were never delivered.
After making the payments, the victim reportedly received emails from someone identifying herself as “Brooke Myers,” who claimed to work alongside Faust at the foundation. The emails indicated the tickets would be provided later through an online ticket portal. Police allege those communications were fraudulent.
Investigators say Faust also defrauded a Bridgeport man out of $400 for two tickets and a field pass to a game against the Los Angeles Rams. The man reportedly sent payment through Cash App to a Facebook account under Faust’s name.
A third victim from Upper Merion Township told police he paid $600 for tickets and a field pass to an Eagles vs. Cowboys game.
Two additional Lower Providence Township residents were each allegedly scammed out of $170 for tickets to a game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Denver Broncos.
Faust has been charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property.
She was arraigned by Cathleen K. Rebar, a Magisterial District Judge in Collegeville. Court records show bail was initially set at $75,000 unsecured but later reduced to $7,500 following an agreement between the parties.
