THIBODAUX, La. — Two people were arrested following a major drug bust on Thursday, May 29, in Thibodaux, the Thibodaux Police Department reported.
After months of investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on the 1300 block of Louise Street. During the raid, authorities seized 142 grams of marijuana, 149 grams of gabapentin, 70 grams of psilocybin mushroom gummies, 208 grams of liquid codeine, 9 doses of tramadol, 57 bottles of CBD oil, 11 THC vapes, three digital scales, an assortment of ammunition and magazines, and multiple firearms, including a handgun converted to fully automatic and a rifle upper.
Two individuals at the scene were arrested and charged.
Kaiden Arceneaux, 21, of Thibodaux, faces charges including:
Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of controlled dangerous substances (felony)
Possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor)
Two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs (felony)
Possession of psilocybin mushrooms (felony)
Unlawful handling of machine guns (felony)
Desmond Fusilier, 28, of Houma, was charged with:
Possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon (felony)
Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of controlled substances (felony)
Two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule I drugs (felony)
Possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor)
Possession of codeine (felony)
Possession of psilocybin mushrooms (felony)
Possession of Schedule IV tramadol (felony)
Possession with intent to distribute Schedule V gabapentin (felony)
Both suspects were booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex.
