Kadma police cracked down on a mobile theft gang during the Ganesh Puja fair, arresting four notorious thieves and recovering nine stolen mobile phones along with SIM and memory cards.
The gang, consisting of youths from Sahibganj, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, primarily targeted women and elderly people in crowded areas such as the Kadma market and Hart Bazaar.
On August 24, 2025, during routine patrolling, police received a tip-off about mobile thefts in the Kadma market. Acting promptly, officers caught one thief red-handed. Under interrogation, he revealed details of the gang, leading to the arrest of three more members from Mango JK Society and the recovery of additional stolen phones.

Recovered items include 9 mobile phones, 3 SIM cards, and 2 memory cards.
The Kadma police station in-charge confirmed the gang had been involved in multiple thefts across crowded spots and that cases have been filed against the accused. Further investigation and action are ongoing.
