JUPITER, Fla. — Jupiter police arrested Kadair B. Hemmings, a Black male, early Friday morning on allegations of drug possession and resisting an officer without violence, according to official records.
The arrest was documented in Report No. 564591 filed by the Jupiter Police Department. Authorities said Hemmings was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and resisting an officer without violence.
Police did not release details regarding what prompted the encounter, the type of controlled substance allegedly involved, or Hemmings’s date of birth. Officials also did not provide the specific location of the incident or other circumstances surrounding the arrest.
Under Florida law, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription can carry serious legal penalties. Charges of resisting an officer without violence typically involve interfering with law enforcement during the performance of official duties.
As with all criminal cases, these charges are allegations. Hemmings is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Boca Raton Tribune will continue monitoring official court records and police filings and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
