The K.R. Puram police have dismantled an interstate bike-lifting gang, arresting four persons and recovering 60 stolen motorcycles worth Rs50 lakh, officials said on Tuesday.
The accused have been identified as Yuvraj (26) and Ranjith Kumar (27), both cab drivers from Vellore, Tamil Nadu, along with their associates Vinod and Manikanta.
Police said the gang had been operating across state lines, stealing motorcycles and transporting them to other regions for resale. Investigations are ongoing to identify additional victims and trace the complete network of the gang.
Authorities have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to theft and interstate criminal activity.
