Grand Junction, CO — A man was arrested in Grand Junction on Monday after an incident involving stalking and domestic violence that occurred the previous day. Justin McNeil, 39, was taken into custody after a series of disturbing events involving a victim.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department, officers were called to the area of 28 ¼ Road and Elm Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, after receiving reports of harassment. Investigators say McNeil repeatedly called and texted the victim, attempting to contact them at their residence. Authorities also believe that McNeil followed the victim home earlier that day and attempted to damage property.
When officers arrived at the scene, McNeil had already fled the area. The police, however, did not take long to locate him. On Monday morning, he was arrested in the area of Ligrani Lane and Rimrock Avenue without incident.
McNeil is facing serious charges, including stalking, domestic violence, and false imprisonment. He was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he is being held while awaiting further proceedings.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address issues of stalking and domestic violence in the community. Authorities are urging anyone who may have experienced similar behavior to come forward to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals.
The investigation into this incident remains ongoing, and more charges could be added as the case progresses.
